Students in the Gardening by Design class designed, dug, and planted a fruit tree orchard using the principles of design and permaculture practices that they learned in class. The orchard includes peaches, plums, nectarines, apricots, apples, figs, pomegranates, and citrus, and is not only another outdoor classroom opportunity, but will contribute to the restoration of the Rogers Commons campus as well as students’ lunches and healthy eating habits!
