Gem Show Trip 2020

Students in the Earth Science class got to witness their studies of geologic time, geologic history, and geology come alive firsthand as they toured three different mineral and fossil shows in one day! First came the Tucson Convention Center, where the students viewed a wide assortment of gems, minerals, and fossils, as well as the stunning exhibit pieces in the main hall of this year’s theme- “World Class Minerals”. Following that show and a quick bite to eat, the class headed across the Santa Cruz River to the Pueblo Gem Show, where they saw- among may other things- massive quartz crystals. Lastly, the class headed to the 22nd Street Fossil and Mineral Show, where they saw original and replica skeletons of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals.
