Students at Sky Islands hit the ground running this year! Things started off with meeting Erik Stanford, from Pivot Produce, who is now supplementing our school garden’s produce with locally grown, organic produce for our culinary arts program. After a few days of orientation, classroom learning began in earnest as students settled in to the new academic year. In addition to the usual day-to-day activities, students built and tested penny boats made of aluminum foil in Innovative Design class, tested soil samples around campus in Environmental Chemistry, and also had a bit of fun after lunch playing board games in Seminar.
