Urban Horticulture Class Spring 2017

Early spring saw students in the Urban Horticulture class propagating and planting fruit trees around campus, as well as lots of delicious cool season produce! The early spring weather also brought out the first peach and apple blooms in the orchard, and the cacti around the campus started to bloom as well.

Students in the 10th grade class continued planning and designing the remainder of the kitchen garden, while the 11th grade class focused on researching and designing a spot for an upcoming chicken coop project. As part of their research on chicken coop construction, the students toured Las Milpitas Farm. However, their research quickly turned into a wild game of ‘catch the chicken’!
