A group of students in the 11th grade Urban Horticulture class worked very hard this spring to build a new greenhouse, which will be used to propagate seedlings and cuttings for the school’s orchards and gardens! Building a greenhouse turned out to be a major technical challenge with a steep learning curve, making it a particularly difficult yet rewarding experience for them. There was a lot of new skills that had to be learned, as well as a lot of problem-solving that was involved in each step of the process. The students were assisted by Danny Clark, a parent of Sky Islands graduate DeAna Clark and the best all-around handy man in town. Sky Islands wishes to thank Danny for all of his hard work, help, and support to the school- we couldn’t have built this incredible greenhouse without his help!
