As part of the UA Lead Guitar program this year, Sky Islands hosted Thomas Viloteau, who performed a special concert for students, parents, and other community members. Viloteau, a French-born guitarist, has won awards in numerous international competitions, including first prizes in Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, and in the United States in 2006 (only nine years after he started playing!), which resulted in his first recording for Naxos. The concert was also attended by Brad Richter, the director of the Lead Guitar program, and Ivar Fojas, the primary Lead Guitar teacher at Sky Islands, who teaches alongside Michael Bagesse.
The concert was incredible, and Sky Islands wishes to thank Thomas, Brad, Ivar, and all those who made this extraordinary and special event possible. What an inspiration to the students in our Lead Guitar class!
