Earth Science Class Trip to ASARCO Mission Mine

Students in the Earth Science class have been studying the process of mining and mineral processing and refining as part of a larger unit on looking at the way in which minerals are mined, how they are used, and what the environmental, social, and economic impacts of mining are, both locally and globally. To bring these concepts to life, the students toured the ASARCO Mission Mine near Sahuarita, where they saw the process of extraction and processing firsthand.
