Sky Islands Awarded 2014 Tucson Clean and Beautiful Youth Environmental Education Mini-Grant

A combined review committee consisting of SAEMS (Southern Arizona Environmental Management Society) members along with Tucson Clean & Beautiful and the Arizona Native Plant Society recently awarded $2,500 in school environmental project funds. Five schools from throughout the Tucson area applied and were approved for funding. Among the five schools selected for funding was Sky Islands High School, which will use the money to continue the ecological restoration of Rogers Commons in our courtyard and field, using the principles of permaculture.

Thank you! We can’t wait to get started in the Fall!
